I feel like a boob wearing an Occupy T-Shirt…
Two reasons (among the many): 1.) my uninhibited donning of occupy garb is perhaps insulated by my own ignorance of both the general and intra-movement social impermissibility of wearing an occupy t-shirt; therefore, it conversely also suggests merely a youthful, transgressive display that lacks solid intellectual commitment (the age old problem of wearing your politics). 2.) T-Shirts are a gateway to bandwagoning—the intra-movement prohibition on Occupy clothing results from the faux pas of material self alignment and the danger of political/partisan co-option…. it becomes an obsequious gesture.
Support for the overthrow of corruption is simple & painless (being shitty is shit), acknowledging how much we are a party to corruption is difficult & painful (admit’in to being shitty is shit).
This is why everyone should devote their lives to Love.
Your house and your cars and all your belongings don’t matter. What will have a lasting impression in the universe is how you treat others.
